| I love BSF because the give me a lot lessons. |
Hello everyone. Growing maggot is one of the way to reduce organic waste. Rifqi and I tried to grow maggots for about 3 months. We find a lot difficulties to grow it up. First time, we tried to buy the cage for Black Soldier Fly (BSF) in order to collect the fly. After tha, we tried to buy pre-pupa. What is pre-pupa? Pre-pua is the mature maggot that needs 2 weeks to transform to BSF. After two weeks we waited for the pre pupa. We put it in the cages. Yup we felt so happy at that time. Do you know what? It is because we could see a lot of fly that is going to be egg maggot hehe.

We didn't want to stop the process. So that, we visited one of our senior in Kuningan, he was called by Mas Usro. Mas Usro told us about how to grow maggot from zero to hero. He gave us his experience for free. Do you know what? He ever got failed in growing maggots. He needed time for about 2 years to grow it up. He told us that eveyone has their own way to grow the maggots. Therefore, he suggested us to use our way to grow the maggots. He just could explain how the BSF's life cycle. He told us that everyday he spent for about 20 kg organic waste to grow the maggots. It's almost everyday he could harvest the egg. He spent all his time to grow up his livestocks from maggots. He never buy food for his livestocks.

After we visited him, we got more powers then we put in our hearts. In the beginning, so many people just mocked us. They taught that growing maggot is just useless. We just got nothing from maggots. All of their opinions, we just put it left behind. We believed that maggots could bring happiness because we already learnt directly from Mas Usro. We got upset for the first time. Do you know why?. The first egg maggots that we harvested got failed. Rifqi gave me all the egg and I tried to grow it in my home. I got failed because the place which is a small box was spilled by the cat. The egg was just about 2 days. I gave them coconut pulp. Unfortunately, we couldn't save their lives. It was ok. We still have a little egg more. Before we tried to grow maggots, we struggled for the maggots by reciting Surah Al-Waqiah. Alhamdulillah, it could light it up our spirit. It was started from a little egg maggots. We could produce 4 big buckets maggots. It was a lot maggots.

Problems always come again and again. It's such spike for our lives but it wouldn't stop our spirit. We found problems such a wet biopond or bucket. We always learn and learn. We found that the problems came from how maggots couldn't finish their food and sometimes the place is not enough for them. After we checked for a while, we found some maggots escape from their home. They tried to look for dry place. Yup We knew that maggots didn't like wet place and full of water. Although maggots could swim well but he didn't like the place hehe. So that, we took the sawdust and gave it to the biopond. Don't forget to mix it well. We could reduce the water by the sawdust. so what's the result?. The could live happily. We could take the moral value from maggots is they never give up for their lives even their home was endangered by water. The second one. They have a big struggle to hand in hand when they have problems. It seems from how the maggots invited their friends without any fight. It's wonderful life. I wish that it could be useful for us amiin.
